Not sure what to expect from your electrician — or what they’ll expect from you?

For many homeowners, especially in older homes, an electrical service visit can feel confusing or even a little intimidating. You might be asking yourself: What will the technician be looking for? Is this going to be expensive?
At Integra, we’ve completed thousands of electrical evaluations across the Des Moines area, and we know exactly what questions tend to come up. In this short guide, we’ll walk you through
What to Expect Before Your Expert Arrives

What to Expect Before Your Electrical Expert Arrives

From the moment you book with Integra, you can expect clear, timely communication, because we believe you should never be left wondering when (or who) to expect.

  • Friendly Day-of Reminders: On the morning of your appointment, you’ll receive a text and email confirming your scheduled service window.
  • Meet Your Tech: As your appointment time approaches, you’ll receive a second email with an estimated time of arrival (ETA), along with your technician’s name and photo so you know exactly who to expect. This email will also include a brief overview of the service they’ll be performing.
  • A Personal Call From Your Technician: Shortly before arrival, your technician will give you a quick call with an exact ETA and a personal introduction.

We want your experience with Integra to feel smooth, respectful, and worry-free — and that starts with keeping you informed every step of the way.

What to Expect During Your Service Call

When your Integra electrician arrives, you can feel confident knowing you're in good hands. Every technician on our team has passed a thorough background check and is trained to treat your home with care and respect.

We begin every visit with a full safety evaluation — a process we call “checking the vitals” of your electrical system. Just like a doctor wouldn’t prescribe treatment without running basic tests, we won’t begin any work until we’re confident your system is safe to service. This includes testing key areas of your home using high-end diagnostic plug testers and performing an overview of your main electrical panel to check for any hazards or code concerns that could impact the work.

Once the safety evaluation is complete, your expert will focus on the issue you originally called us about. After diagnosing the problem, they’ll provide you with three clear options for moving forward, each with a different scope of work and price point. This gives you the flexibility to choose the solution that best fits your needs and your budget.
There’s never any pressure or obligation. Our job is to educate, inform, and help you feel confident in whatever decision you make for your home.

What to Expect After Your Appointment

Whether you choose to move forward with one of our repair options or not, your appointment doesn’t end when your technician walks out the door — we want to leave you with real value either way. As a thank-you for inviting us into your home, you’ll receive a physical folder with everything we reviewed during your appointment, including your safety evaluation results and helpful safety tips to keep your home protected. You’ll also get a follow-up email summarizing the three repair options we discussed, along with additional resources to help you continue making the best and safest decisions for your home’s electrical system.
After your visit, we’ll follow up to kindly ask for your feedback. Whether or not you decide to move forward with any of the repair options, your review helps us continue improving and serving families like yours with excellence.

And if you do choose to work with us, rest easy — the price we quote is the price you’ll pay. We guarantee that the option you select will not increase in cost once work begins, so there are no surprises.

Clarity, Confidence, and Zero Surprises

It’s completely normal to feel unsure about what an electrical appointment involves. But now, you know exactly what to expect. You know who’s coming to your home, what they’ll be doing, and how the process will unfold — from the safety checks we perform to the three repair options we’ll provide, with pricing that never changes once you say yes. Whether you choose to move forward or not, you're in control every step of the way. We hope this guide gave you peace of mind and answered your biggest questions. If there’s anything else on your mind, just reach out. We’re here to help.
